7 Easter & Memorial Day Announcements
To All the Saints of Austin:
Thank you for the opportunity to worship together this morning! If you missed the service, the video will be posted late today at https://www.allsaints-austin.org/videos. While you’re waiting on that one to appear, visit the same link to find a corrected version of the Memorial Day tribute, “Those Whose Lives are Closely Linked with Ours.”
Please don’t forget to wear fire engine red and a lot of it for worship next week. We have a special surprise coming next week, so it won’t be your parents’ Morning Prayer!
As I mentioned in the announcement, we now have a special “Re-Gathering Team” that will be reviewing all the excellent feedback we received in all-parish Zoom meetings, the survey, and consultation with our Vestry and the Diocese of Texas. The product of their work will be our Re-Gathering Plan, which will describe how we’ll put our toe in the water toward engaging each other in worship and ministry in person. The team members are:
- Cynthia Beeman
- Pamela Bell
- Michelle Carlson
- Matt Davis
- Gregory Eaton
- Michael Hemby
- Brian Hopper
- Steve Kinney
- David Saenz
One other member has not yet responded to the invitation, but I’m hopeful that she’ll be with us, and have confidence in the work this team will accomplish for All Saints’.
I also announced this morning that we’ve hired JoAnn Durham as our next bookkeeper, replacing Anita Barrick, who’s moving up north (or at least north of here). Anita has done outstanding work for All Saints’, and we hope to celebrate her service as soon as we can. JoAnn starts June 1, and Anita’s last day is June 30. That gives them time to overlap and work through hand-off issues.
Finally, I forgot to announce this morning what probably is “Duh” news: The parish office will be closed Monday for the Memorial Day holiday. Now how, you may ask, is that different from any other COVID-19-era status? Well, those of us who normally would be working at home won’t be.
