Congratulations to the 2023 Hutto and Powell Scholarship Recipients!

2023 Recipients of the Hutto Scholarship are Caleigh Dowell, Brooks Johnson, Duke Saenz and Sophia Saenz.
2023 Recipients of the Powell Scholarship are Brooks Johnson and Sophia Saenz.
The Effie Hutto Scholarships are part of the continuing legacy of Mrs. Effie Hutto, who, as a teacher and librarian at many schools across Texas, devoted her life to learning and to helping students. Following her death in 1993, her estate, through the Trustees of the All Saints' Church Endowment Fund, Texas, created a gift that rewards deserving scholars. Hutto Scholarships are based on merit, potential, and financial need. They are awarded to:
- A high school senior planning to enroll in an accredited college in the fall of 2023.
- A seminarian, or someone who has been accepted to a seminary.
- A current or previous Hutto Scholarship recipient wishing to renew their award.
The Armistead C. Powell Scholarship celebrates the ministry of the late Rev. Armistead Powell, Rector of All Saints’ from 1969 to 1994. The scholarship program was set up through the efforts of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) ministry. Powell Scholarships are based on participation and service to All Saints' not on need or academic achievement, and are awarded to graduating seniors who are confirmed All Saints' parishioners.
The application deadline each year for these scholarships is April 1st. Announcements about the application deadline run in the Friday Saints’ Alive email in March.
