Micah 6 Update - June & July 2019
JUNE & JULY PANTRY CHALLENGE ITEMS - ANY CANNED GOODS (Place donations in the Micah 6 drawer in Gregg House Foyer)
Any canned goods you would like to contribute would be most welcome in these summer months. Additionally, if you are interested in volunteering or you have school students who may want to help and need community service hours, the Food Pantry has a need for additional assistance during the summer as the number of UT student volunteers is significantly lower at this time. See website for more information.
Send financial donations to Micah 6 Austin, 2203 San Antonio St., 78705 or on line at www.micah6austin.org

• MICAH 6 WOMEN’S RESOURCE GROUP: Each Tuesday between 11am and 1pm, the Micah 6 Women’s Group meets to mentor and serve young women who have been or are currently without homes. This is an opportunity for these women to have a brief respite in an air conditioned or heated space with a home-cooked meal and good company. Most often, it is a comfortable and calm group of women who appreciate this time with mentors who provide guidance and support on issues such as navigating health care requests, job applications, accessing birth certificates and ID cards, securing housing, and more. The role of mentors is to be supportive and understanding, but mentors do not provide case management services as these women have access to this through other programs. If this sounds like something you might be interested in participating in, please contact Jane Leifeste with Micah 6. Jane is the Women’s Group program director, and she established the program almost 5 years ago. Jane can be reached at [email protected]
