UT Episcopal Student Center
What a wondrous whirlwind of a first few weeks we have had at the Episcopal Student Center. After our first Sunday together, we plunged right into finals. It was incredible to see how many students continually gathered to pray and encourage one another in community. Each day, we met for noonday prayer and lunch; and enjoyed a hearty repast each night after compline or New Zealand Night Prayer, said by candlelight. Our prayer offices were led by students; and our phenomenal Missioner Associate helped ensure that the community was fed physically and spiritually.
Friends, this is an amazing group of students. I have had a chance to meet with Alan Nelson and the All Saints’ Vestry – and we have all expressed a mutual hope to continue finding ways to deepen and strengthen our relationship as partners in ministry through the years to come. If you feel particularly called to minister to / with college students in some capacity, please do let me know.
This year we bid farewell to eight amazing seniors leaving the ESC: Maddie Baughman, Sarah Bishop, Russell Cannon, Raymond Guyandi, Brendan Reid, Elizabeth Tate, and Christine Te. Graduates, we are so grateful for your presence in this community. May God speed you in your new adventures, and bless you in the years to come!
