2023 Stewardship
Create a Financial Pledge Give Now or Pay a Pledge
WITH HOPE IN OUR HEARTS AND A SONG ON OUR LIPS, this year’s Stewardship theme is set to music, reminding us of God’s faithfulness and steadfast love across the ages, in the present moment, and in the future: All our Hope on God is Founded (Hymn 665).
God inspires and guides our ministry as we move from thoughts and words into daily action in the renewal of this good parish. This requires time, passion, and financial resources. Our calling and the ministry that God has entrusted to us is worthy of extraordinary commitment.
DURING THIS SEASON OF RENEWAL, PRIORITIES SET WITHIN THE 2023 BUDGET INCLUDE:
- Children, Youth & Families ministry
- Mission & Outreach: including Loaves & Fishes
- Appreciating and retaining valued staff members
- Communications & Evangelism: reaching members, newcomers, and guests
We are placing our pledge dollars into service where they should be: directly into ministries that build up life at All Saints’ and extend into the community.
What is the difference between a pledge & a gift?
A pledge states an intent to give that All Saints’ can rely on for creating an annual operating budget, ensuring the ability to meet our monthly financial obligations.
Gifts are welcome and wonderful surprises!
But because of their unexpected nature, they do not assist the Finance Committee of the Vestry to create a clear and realistic financial plan for the parish.
What does the Endowment provide?
The single most important source of funding for our ministries comes from the pledges made during our annual stewardship campaign.
From the income generated from the corpus, the Endowment supports the operating budget with an additional 32%. For several years, conditions required that we request additional funds from the Endowment to shore up pledge shortfalls in order to continue ministries such as Children & Youth Formation, Mission & Outreach, Communications & Evangelism, and Building Maintenance.
This practice is meant to be temporary, for it undercuts long-term parish health.
Endowment funds are best used for repairing and maintaining our aging physical properties, and for unforeseen emergencies.
November 13 is Loyalty Sunday
Each All Saints’ parishioner is asked to pray over, complete, and return the enclosed pledge card during the month of October and no later than Loyalty Sunday, November 13, so that the Finance Committee of the Vestry can prepare the 2023 budget.
Ways to make your pledge (intent to give)
When it comes to making your pledge for the upcoming year, there are many options available.
Complete and sign a 2023 pledge card and place it in the offering plate during any church service at All Saints’ or return it in the enclosed envelope to the parish office at 209 W. 27th St., Austin, TX 78703.
You can also make your pledge via the All Saints’ website at: allsaints-austin.org/give. Look for the green box icon in the center of the home page labeled All our Hope on God is Founded.
If you would like an alternative to the website or mailing in a pledge card, contact All Saints’ Bookkeeper Ms. Nancy Barber in the church office for additional information on how to pledge, setting up scheduled giving, giving appreciated stock, or any other question regarding pledging or payments. Also please consult your finance professional.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
The key to living a financially generous life is prayerful and thoughtful discernment. We encourage you to pledge an amount that is both responsible and faithful. A tithe is 10% of one’s income, a goal that is often reached after incremental increases each year. The provided chart may help you decide how much to pledge during 2023.
RANGE OF PLEDGES
When more families pledge, and do so generously, we will be able to strengthen our mission and expand our ministry.
